Beckett favorites: Mickey Mouse, stacking cups and knocking them over, anything he can chew on, the remote control, the ceiling fan, his sisters, making noise, giving kisses, Daisy, going on walks, looking at himself in the mirror, dancing, yelling and talking, sharing food with mama and daddy.

Dislikes: bedtime

Sleeping: depends on the night. Some nights he will get up once, other nights he’ll get up two or three times. He normally does a stretch of at least 6 hours but he goes to bed so early it doesn’t really help me out. He is exhausted and asleep by 7pm every night. Even if we have a late nap. I’ve been trying to get him on more of a nap schedule during the day. I think it’s going to be harder now that Emma is home for the summer.

Milestones: Sitting up unassisted for a good chunk of time. Rolling front to back and back again. He pulls his knees under him and tries to push off if there is something out of his reach that he wants. He works hard and after a few minutes he’ll be able to grab it. Making the “M” sound…. mamammamamamamama…..thank you very much! He yells a lot and talks back to his sisters (or anyone else).

Wearing 6-12 month clothing and still fits into his size 1 Freshly Picked Mocs. Size 3 diapers.

Eating: still nursing every few hours. Eats 3 meals a day. Yogurt for breakfast and pureed fruits and veggies for lunch and dinner. He’s been eating little bits of our food at dinner time. Loved the pizza that Lucy made at her cooking class last week. Also loved the ice cream that daddy shared with him the other night.

Life is just more fun with you in it!!

Every day it seems like I’m wishing someone from my high school class a “Happy 40th Birthday” on Facebook. And then I think, wow that person is getting old. Ha! That will be me this August. It really didn’t hit me until Kirsten turned 40 this month.

How did this happen so quickly? Wasn’t I just celebrating my 21st birthday at the Roxy with Jon, Emily and Ara?! Haha!

Oh, but life has been so fun lately!!

This is how I look about 10 times a day. I’m just thankful that Beckett has gotten used to the car. We spend so much time driving his sisters all over town.

The weather has been beautiful so we’ve been spending a lot of time outside

Beckett tried pasta for the first time this week. He loved it but hasn’t figured out how to feed himself yet.

But seriously, who cares?!?! I get to see this little monkey around the clock and I LOVE it!!

 

 

 

Wow! 6 months already!!

Weight: 15.5 pounds. I knew he was little but I was shocked he wasn’t at least 16 pounds! He is definitely taking after his big sisters by being so lean.

Length: 26.50 inches

Loves: playing with his stacking cups and knocking them over. He likes to dance with mama and loves taking walks now (yes!!) He still loves being held and walked around, no sitting quietly for this little boy. He loves watching Daisy and has started to reach his hands out to her when she comes over to him. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! We don’t sit and watch an entire episode but he loves the opening song and his face lights up whenever he sees him.

Dislikes: bedtime. He knows the routine and starts to whine a little bit when we start it.

Sleeping: I have a feeling that sleep will always be a battle with this little boy. He is doing much better at night and even went all night a couple of times. Most of the time he wakes up once or twice. I normally put him down around 6:30. He wakes up around 11:30 for a feeding and then again around 5:00 for another feeding. Napping is almost nonexistent unless I’m lucky enough to get him to fall asleep in the car.

Eating: Still nursing every 2-3 hours during the day and eating solids twice a day. He loves all his food and recently started eating little bits from our plates. Anytime he sees someone eating something his little mouth opens and he reaches out his hands. Too cute!!

Milestones: Sitting up on his own for a few minutes at a time. He likes to sit on his blanket and play with his toys. He rolls a lot more lately and moves all over his blanket and crib. He reaches out and is able to grab any toy or object that he wants. EVERYTHING goes in his mouth these days including my hair. I walk around with wet matted hair all the time. He grabs at his feet and brings them right up to his mouth. He’s a wiggly worm and changing his diaper has been challenging at times because he likes to roll back and forth, he likes to kick his legs and put his toes in his mouth.

Oh Beckett!!!! I can’t believe that you are already a half year old! You have the best personality and light up any room you are in. You giggle and smile SO easily. You have brought so much happiness to your other 6 Friarys. We love you so much!! Happy half year!!

I can’t believe my sweet little baby is already 6 months old today! In honor of his 6 month birthday (and the fact that he is FINALLY sleeping through the night) I put together a little lullaby for him:

Nothing fancy about our days over here at the Friary household. Just moments I want to remember.

We had dinner at Marlene and Brian’s this year. Marlene set up a scavenger hunt for Lucy. It was such a nice day out that we got to spend a lot of time outside.

Ooooohhhhhh, the Mimi’s are going to love these pictures!!

Who said it’s hard getting five kids to look at the camera at the same time? These kids were born with a camera in their faces. I needed to get a few updated pictures of all of them together. I think the last time I did that was on Christmas Eve and they were all in their pajamas.

Time sure has been a thief lately. These kids are growing and changing at lightning speed and I can barely catch my breath. I look back at when the older girls were little and those years just went by in a blur. I never had time to take pictures like these with them. I don’t want to make the same mistake again.

Emma is going back to school tomorrow after being home all week for spring break. Can you believe that her sophomore year of college is just about over?

 

 

Megan just finished up her second year of cheerleading last week. I’ll post more about that in a few days. She’s getting ready to start tennis in a couple of weeks. This girl is always busy and always on the go.

 

Chloe is getting ready to say goodbye to her middle school years in just a few short months. It hasn’t hit us yet that we’ll have another high schooler in the house. She just joined the track team at school and is really looking forward to that.

She is always helping out with Beckett and it’s been such a great help to me.

Lucy is growing up so quickly too! She’s getting ready to make her first communion in a couple of weeks. She’s still doing Girl Scouts and spends a ton of time with her best friend from across the street.

And being the baby means that mama will take and post a few extra pictures of you.

He is seriously the happiest baby around. He is surrounded by these 4 great girls who love him so much.

Don’t you just love when months like January and February fly by? This has been the best winter!! Hardly any snow to complain about and warmer than usual temperatures. We’ve been busy as usual around here and nothing too exciting is happening so no need to take out my big camera. Here are a few iPhone photos from this month
