It’s hard to believe that June is more than half over. Yesterday was Lucy’s first official day of summer vacation and we’re already in summer mode over here. It usually takes me a few weeks before it starts to feel like summer break but this year it was immediate!

Lucy finished up elementary school and I have to admit that I’ve been so busy obsessing over Megan finishing high school that this didn’t hit me until she got out of the car on the last day. I still remember putting her on the kindergarten bus and all the emotions I was going through. This was pretty much the same.

The first thing we did was hit the library!

We celebrated with s’mores before bedtime.

Weekly Recap

I feel like we are in the thick of summer fun right now, even though we have another week of school left.

Lucy had her Last Blast on Thursday

I really like her group of friends. They all have pretty big personalities but they seem to compliment one another. Every once in a while you hear some arguing but mostly giggling. They point out when someone is doing or saying something wrong but not in a mean natured way. Almost adult like. They are also really good at complimenting each other and cheering each other on. It’s really FUN watching them all together.

Emma and Tess went to Iceland last week and it seemed strange to have my iPhone app look like this

On Saturday we drove to Taunton where Megan received the Italian Club scholarship

When we left there we stopped to see Scott and Sean who were both in town for a christening.

After a long day Jon and I hung out with the kids and relaxed

She’s 10!! Like, as in one zero! TEN!! How in the world did that happen so quickly?!?! We celebrated this sweet girl over the weekend with some of her friends

It is SO fun and watching Lucy and her friends. It totally takes me back to when the older girls were younger. They played games and swam the entire day. She had a few of them sleep over on Saturday night, too.

I absolutely love celebrating my kids!! Happy Birthday, sweet Lu!!

Graduation

I remember the day I got these pictures back from her preschool teacher. They brought me to tears (surprise, surprise). I also remember thinking that seeing her in her high school cap and gown would crush me. But, I didn’t have to worry about that for 14 years.

I’ve been dreading graduation for months. I’ve been through this before and I know that even though I’m still their mom and they’re still my “babies”, things just change. Of course the feelings don’t change, just the day to day activities that we’ve been doing forever. Like I said in Emma’s graduation post, it’s not a bad change just different.
