Summer (so far) Photos

School starts in just a few short weeks so I thought I’d get some of our pictures up from this pretty quiet and rainy summer. It seems like it rained the entire month of July. We made sure to get out and enjoy the sun whenever it did come out.

Our town’s 4th of July celebration (which was the end of June this year) is one of my favorite days in town.

This sweet girl turned 21!! Jon and I went into the city to take her and Tyler out for lunch and to celebrate her first drink!

We went to RI for a beach day

One of the most exciting things this summer is that Emma and Shane bought a house!

A few more random pictures from the month:

And a very random picture of a dinosaur because with all of my girls growing up and moving in different directions, it’s a nice reminder that I still have littles in the house.

June Pictures

Let’s get some of these pictures on here before I forget ๐Ÿ™‚

My littlest girl turned into a teenager this month. I’m not sure how in the world that happened so quickly!! That present she was so excited about opening was a Disney Loungefly from Tracey. She is OBSESSED with Loungefly backpacks!!

We ended our homeschool journey at the beginning of the month. It was honestly one of the BEST things we’ve done together. I LOVED having her home with me but she decided to go back to school with her friends for her 8th grade year. As much as I’m going to miss having her home with me, I’m SO ready to be back on a routine in the fall.

The flowers have been so beautiful this year!! I find myself walking around snapping pictures!! Ha!

Beckett finished up soccer for the spring. Watching him play was one of the most entertaining parts of the year so far. Haha! He really doesn’t know what’s going on with the game and his mouth definitely moves quicker than his feet out there. BUT he was SO proud of his soccer medal he received. He even scored his first goal during the last game. He kept yelling to everyone around that it was his first one.

He says he’s more of a football player……….we’ll see

Father’s Day

Megan with her oldest friend in the world

And me with mine

A few more pictures from the month:

Of course they’re all of Beckett ๐Ÿ™‚ All caught up. Happy June!!

May Little Things

Happy June 1st!

I can’t believe that we are in our final days of homeschool. It seems like we just started and here I am starting to pack up my little classroom. It’s a little bittersweet for sure! May was a gorgeous month. We had so many warm days and spent a ton of time outside.

We started going back to the library on Fridays and even had movie date!

We celebrated Emma’s birthday

And Mother’s Day

Soccer continues but finally without masks

I took Chloe, Lucy and Beckett to the beach

We moved Megan back into the city….. I didn’t take any pictures because it was pouring. I’m already missing having moments like this

A few other pictures from the month

As sad as I am to end this school year, I think we are all ready for the summer break.

Life Lately…..

How can life be so busy and yet so boring at the same time? We are all still pretty much in that “quarantine funk” over here. Everyone is still working and schooling from home. Now that the weather is getting nicer, we’re slowly starting to get out a little bit more and starting to feel some sense of normalcy. The girls are starting to wrap school up and are looking forward to returning to in-person learning in the fall.

Some pictures from the last few weeks:

Jon went off on his first work trip in over a year! It was strange not having him around for a week. We were pretty happy to get him back ๐Ÿ™‚

That first trip wiped him out. Ha!

I took my parents over to Emma’s apartment and they got to meet Jewels.

Beckett likes to call himself the “man of the house” when Jon’s not home. Hahaha!!

Kinda feltl like we needed a few more Beck pictures in here.

The weather has been really great the last few weeks so we’ve been spending a lot of time outside. Jon takes Beckett to the park almost daily. I was going with them until my allergies started to act up. It is so fun watching him play with kids. He’s gonna love going to school!!

A little glimpse into normalcy

We celebrated my mom’s birthday last month. This was my first time seeing my brother, Gary, in over a year!!

Winnie might be the most spoiled and loved goldendoodle EVER!!

Always studying!!

Sometimes you have to take a selfie to document that you’re going out to dinner with REAL clothes on. Ha!

Jon bought me a Peloton for Mother’s Day. It came a few days early and I’m already obsessed! Now I know why Megan loves her Soul Cycle so much!!!

Last but not least, Beckett started soccer yesterday. As I sat there, I couldn’t help but wonder how many sports events are in our future. Will he be the kids who wants to play ALL the sports? I can’t wait to see what he decides to do ๐Ÿ™‚ Love this cutie soccer player.

Welcome to our homeschool classroom. If you told me last year that I would be a full time homeschooler, I probably would’ve believed it. HA! Seriously!! It’s something that I always wanted to do but was too afraid to take the leap. I have been following homeschool vloggers on YouTube for years. These vloggers totally have their act together and I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to pull it off.

When our school district announced that they were going with a hybrid model we decided it would be best for our family to homeschool Lucy. Even though homeschooling was something that I always wanted to try, I wasn’t sure that I could pull it off. I spent weeks researching different curriculum and what would work best for us. I went from doubting myself and my ability to properly homeschool to being REALLY excited about it. I was in tears when I got the approval letter from our superintendent.

I had a zoom meeting with the elementary school last night regarding kindergarten for the fall. Once again I feel myself on the struggle bus. I’m not sure what the fall will look like over here. I wasn’t happy with the things I was hearing. I KNOW that the schools are doing their very best to make things feel normal for the students and families. I’m just not sure if public school is right for our family RIGHT NOW. I’m hoping and praying that things will be back to normal in September. If not then I’ll be adding another student to my classroom.

I think I can handle it.

Disney 2021

When we left Disney in March 2020 we had no intentions on returning in 2021. Disney planned on opening lots of new rides and restaurants in 2021 and we wanted to wait until everything was done before we returned. Then Disney shut down because of the virus and all Lucy talked about was how much she missed Disney. When they opened back up in July Lucy and I started watching our favorite Disney vloggers on Youtube. After months of thinking about it, and listening to people talk about how safe they felt, we decided that it was safe for our family to travel back to Disney. An entire year before we originally planned.

Our hotel that we usually stayed at wasn’t reopened so we picked a new place on the skyliner. I don’t think I will ever stay anywhere on Disney property without access to either the skyliner or Monorail ever again.

I have lots of pictures from our week. Grab a cup of coffee or a Dole Whip and enjoy!

Our week in pictures:

He was afraid of the rollercoasters but he could rock the Magic Carpets like nobody’s business
Lucy had a list of things she wanted to eat this trip!

We went during Epcot’s Festival of the Arts and ate our way around the park

Not all of that food was from Epcot. We tried treats at ALL of the parks!

It was our first Disney vacation as a family of 4. We really missed the older girls but we still had a wonderful time. Disney did EVERYTHING right keeping people safe during this crazy time. I’m so glad that we decided to take the trip. These memories will last forever!!

I’m Back!!

It feels so good to be back in this little space. You didn’t miss much of our 2020. Just like everyone else we were stuck inside. Ok, there were some pretty big moments, too. Chloe graduated from high school:

There wasn’t a huge traditional graduation, instead they did groups of 20 (or maybe it was 30) kids at a time and their 5 family members. It was a nice ceremony and definitely appreciated after all the hard work these kids put in over the years.

She missed out on prom but her and her friends dressed up and I took some pictures for them:

We had a wedding in the family! Liz and Jamie got married.

Jon and I took Beckett and Lucy to Nantucket for a long weekend with some friends

We started our homeschooling journey

We celebrated holidays (differently this year) and our yearly traditions (with masks on):

I have a hard time sitting here complaining about 2020. Of course, it wasn’t the year we were all expecting or even hoping for. Life was put on hold BUT I got so much extra time with Jon and the kids this year and for that I will always be thankful.

We went to Disney!! When our girls were little we went every year. All of my kids love Disney but none as much as Chloe. I always called her my Disney baby. She was only 3 years old when we started going. She was too little for a lot of the rides so we spent a lot of time on the benches eating Disney snacks and people watching. She LOVED it!! Sheโ€™s always called it her happy place ๐Ÿ™‚

With graduation coming this year I knew that I had to take her on one more โ€œkidโ€ trip. I spent months planning every second of this trip. Even though things didnโ€™t go off perfectly (I ended up in urgent care) it was definitely a trip we will always remember.

Iโ€™m so glad that we got the trip in when we did, Disney shut down 2 weeks after we got home. I’m also glad that we got to stay at “our” resort one last time with Chloe. I loved keeping things the same for so many years with my 3 big girls but I think we’ll find a new Disney home with Lucy and Beckett to create new memories. With all of the new attractions coming to Disney over the next few years I have a feeling we’ll be going back again and again. Right, Jon??

Life Update

Lets throw some pictures up here so we don’t get completely behind, shall we? November and December have gone by in a blink of an eye. It’s crazy that it’s almost 2020. I do like the sound of that though.

Lucy was a jellyfish in The Little Mermaid back in December. She was the cutest little jellyfish I ever did see. She is so lucky to have all these big sisters come out to support her.

Beckett and Winnie cause trouble daily. Ha! Best of friends!

We went to Lucy’s parent teacher conference and she wanted to see if Beck would fit in her locker. I have the same picture of Lucy when she was his age.

Emma came over on her day off and sat and watched the new Blues Clues with Beck. It was one of her favorite shows when she was little.

Emma, Megan, Chloe and Ashlyn all met up at Meg’s apartment and spent the day in the city a few weeks ago.

My parents had a Christmas party the other night with just our immediate family. I was so nice getting together with everyone.

Beckett got all of his curls cut off…….. I have a love/hate relationship with his hair. I miss his curls but he looks so handsome with his hair short. Not sure where we’re going from here. LOL Yes, this is something I spend time thinking about.

He’s also very into green eggs and ham at the moment.

A few Christmas photos from the month:

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Love, The Friarys
