Christmas Tree 2014

This is our fourth year at this farm and we’ve made some amazing memories here! IMG_0512

Hunting for our Christmas tree is always a lot of fun for our family (most families, I’m sure). Last years tree was teeny tiny so this year we wanted to make sure that we found one taller than Jon and I. Of course I had to stop and take some shots of the girls along the way.IMG_0522 IMG_0524 IMG_0520 IMG_0518 IMG_0515 IMG_0531 IMG_0534 IMG_0540 IMG_0547

After walking around in the freezing cold we decided on this great big tree! It should fit, right?IMG_0528It was definitely taller than Jon and I.IMG_0531

Megan went looking for help for this enormous tree! IMG_0549

It was so nice having everyone home that weekend to decorate the tree together. IMG_0570 IMG_0568 IMG_0564 IMG_0561 IMG_0558

The finished tree! See, it hardly fits in the shot! This is the biggest tree we’ve had in years, it’s as crooked as all our trees from years past but I love it!IMG_0583

These are our two new ornaments. Every time we go on vacation I like to take home an ornament as a reminder of a great trip. However, these are from Potterybarn, not London. IMG_0589 IMG_0592

Oh Christmas Tree

We woke up to a blanket of snow this morning. It was a perfect day to get our tree!!! So we hopped in the truck and drove out to our favorite tree farm. I finally got our Christmas card photo taken this morning too! The setting was perfect for taking pictures today. ImageImageImageImage

Lucy threw a snowball that hit Jon in the ear when it was our turn to pose

I shouldn’t have but I couldn’t stop laughing! Image

Right about at this moment I thought my heart was going to burst! Jon and the girls came riding up the hill with our tree. Image

The tree is far from perfect. In fact, when we put it in the stand we had a good laugh at how short it was. I don’t think it’s even 6 feet tall. We’re used to these big monster trees that reach the ceiling. It’s cute though and we can’t wait to decorate it tonight!! It’s starting to feel like Christmas!!!

Oh Christmas Tree…

We went searching for our “perfect” Christmas tree on Sunday. It was bitter cold and had just started to snow. I knew it would be a perfect setting for taking pictures. ImageImageImageImageImage

About 20 minutes into our hunt we all had numb fingers and toes. We decided that any old cut tree up at the barn would do.

It’s a little crooked. There are a few bare spots and I’m sure that it will be dried out before Christmas but I LOVE it!! It’s perfect for us!!

Elf

We had a wonderful time at the Elf play last night. The drive home was a little scary with all the snow but it added to the Christmas feel.

We stopped to have dinner first at Chardonnays. Can you tell how excited they were?

The snow was really coming down!! I’m glad we didn’t notice Lucy’s hat when we took the picture. She always walks around like this and it cracks me up.

Santa was outside handing out candy canes. He also had some helpers inside handing out Macy’s bags filled with treats. It was such a great show too! Hopefully this will motivate me into getting some Christmas shopping done!!
