Happy 9th Birthday, Lucy
Weekend Celebrations
I think from now until October we’re going to have party after party. We’re in the beginning of Friary Birthday season, add in a couple of planned family and friends cookouts and a wedding and we’re just about all booked up!
This past weekend my brothers and I threw a surprise 50th anniversary cookout for our parents. It was nice getting together with some of my cousins that I haven’t seen in years.

On Sunday we celebrated Lucy’s 9th birthday with grandparents, Tracey and the girls

Megan and Kate have been planning a solo girls trip to Disney after they graduate next year. You know, when they’re both 18. 😢 So we started the planning process. This trip will be about 10 years in the making and they are both so excited. Crazy that the time is almost here.

Tracey and I joke that we’ll be there waiting when they get to their hotel. Umm…. maybe 😉
Megan’s Junior Prom
and just like that, junior prom is over. what in the what??? how can we be saying goodbye to junior year already? as i sit here thinking about sending another daughter off to her senior year and then eventually off to college it makes me so stressed out. i thought it would get easier after the first one but that is just not the case. life changes so much once you send these kids off into the real world. even when they come back for long weekends, breaks and holidays they come back different people. not in a bad way (at all) just different. one more year and then life around here will change once again. now that i’ve made myself a little depressed….ha! i think i’ll share some of megan’s pictures.

her hair, makeup and dress were absolutely beautiful

her sisters wanted to get for a few shots with her too!

these girls are going to have a tough time next year too! beckett wasn’t interested in taking any pictures this time. Ha! Probably psyched that the camera was on someone else for a change

i’m not sure how some of the senior moms made it through without any tears. or maybe they didn’t. who knows? maybe they’re like me and cried on the way home. haha.
this girl has my heart, they all do.
Life Lately….According to my iPhone

I took Beckett and Lucy to the park a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time that Beckett was old enough to run around on his own. He had a blast!!

We replaced our driveway at the end of April. Jon started tearing it up himself and realized that probably wasn’t the best idea. He called our friend and neighbor to come over and help. Thank God or I’m pretty sure he’d still be working on it. Kidding. Jon worked SO hard and I couldn’t get over how much work he did! It was a HUGE job! Beckett LOVED watching him and then watching all the big trucks and machines come down a couple of days later. He spent most of his time looking out the window.

My mom had a big birthday last month. She and my dad went on a cruise and when they got back we all went over to celebrate her! Happy Birthday, mom!!

Jon and I had a nice date night in Boston. We went to a few different bars to watch the Celtics game and then ended our night by going to a record shop. It’s the same dates we had about 20 years ago. Wanna feel old? Go to bars in Boston on a Friday night. Everyone in there was Emma’s age! HAHAHA!

Yup, that’s right. The kids in the bar are Emma’s age, she just turned 21!! Happy Birthday, Emma!!

Megan got her first car!! Man, this update is really making me feel super old. She looks absolutely adorable in it.
More pictures from the month:

I love that guy and this crazy, busy life we share together.

Beckett finally made it to the grandchildren growth wall. A little late and now on the other side 😉

Every time we go to visit our parents Jon makes me drive through the old neighborhood. Our old house looks so little to me now.

Or maybe it’s because this one is so big.

Megan and Marina were named 2017-2018 cheer captains!
And went to NYC. April was the month of Megan.

The weather is finally nice enough to spend time outside. We’ve been trying to take advantage of it as much as we can. The winters can be so long up here and it kinda sucks sitting in your house for three straight months.

We spent a morning with Beckett’s girlfriend, Gioia.

Beckett melted the heart of another one of his sisters friends.

Potterybarn liked Beckett’s photo

I tried to get Beckett to sit still and gave him a crayon and paper to draw with
That lasted about 10 minutes before he turned to the wall to show his artistic skills
Easter 2017
The Easter bunny has been delivering eggs and baskets to our family for 21 years! And it NEVER gets old!

Lucy loves hunting for eggs and this year she had a new partner. He caught on pretty quick too! He knew exactly what to do and carried his basket around with both hands.

We had lunch at Brian and Marlene’s this year where the kids had another egg hunt and scavenger hunt
Beckett James, Month 18
Oh Beckett, oh Beckett, OH BECKETT!
How in the world are you already 18 months old?

Likes: One of your favorite things to do is dance! Anytime you want to dance you walk over to daddy’s stereo and say “down”. And brother, you know how to get down. It’s the cutest thing to watch! You also LOVE reading books. You and I will sit on the floor next to the book basket and read every single book in there. You are really starting to figure out how to play with some of your big boy toys and I can see the wheels in your head spinning as you “pretend”. You like to walk around with all the cordless phones and talk to either daddy or baba. You still love Mickey Mouse and constantly need him on in the background. You don’t spend too much time sitting and watching tv. You are constantly on the move. Going outside is still your absolute favorite thing to do and luckily it’s starting to get warm again.

You are obsessed with brushing your teeth and ask every time we go upstairs…… future dentist, maybe?

Dislikes: You hate getting your diaper changed, being told no and having to come in the house after playing outside.
Eats: You still nurse a few times a day and STILL get up in the middle of the night most nights. You always have a great appetite throughout the day. Favorite foods right now are toast, bananas, strawberries, cheese sticks, yogurt, avocado, crackers, pasta anything, peas, corn, broccoli, ice-cream, lucky charms and goldfish. You drink about 4 ounces of watered down apple juice a day. You are still refusing milk so I have to hide it in a peanut butter, banana smoothie.

Sleeps: you are in your room from about 7pm until about 6am. You still get up to nurse once a night (most nights). You still enjoy a two hour nap every day.

Weight: 22 pounds. Length: 32.5 inches. wearing 18 month clothing. size 3 freshly picked (moving up to size 4 pretty quick). size 5 sneaker and size 4 diaper.

Milestones: you started walking at 15.5 months. You talk constantly and understand everything we tell you. We introduced crayons to you about two months ago and you love to scribble on your paper and put them in your mouth. You climb on everything. You have 12 teeth now too and love to show off that super smile of yours

You’re starting to love stuffed animals and hug them whenever you “meet” a new one

You love to follow your sisters around and get so excited when Lucy walks in the room

Your personality is larger than life right now!! You laugh so easily and LOVE to make those around you laugh too. I can definitely see you as class clown someday.

Oh Beckett, oh Beckett, OH Beckett!!!! You are the cutest little boy. You complete this family so perfectly!!

I love you, buddy!! Happy 18 months!!
Today
I put this picture on Instagram but needed to have it here too. I’ve been brushing little girls’ hair for almost 21 years! Do you have any idea how many tears have been shed over that little fun fact? Both theirs and mine! HA! I find it to be so stressful on mornings where we’re already running late. Sometimes I ask myself “what the heck were they doing in their sleep to get this many knots?” Lucy is my last baby girl and I know that even something as small as this will be something I will miss.

Looks like I’m down to “blogging” about once a month at this point. And, do I even call it blogging anymore? I’m just trying to make sure that all of my photos have a home these days (besides Instagram). My camera is severely neglected as well. I just don’t have the time to keep up anymore. I started to run out of room on my phone and decided to upload a ton of pictures to Shutterfly before I had a chance to put them over here so I’m missing some pretty fun photos. Oh well, at least I have them somewhere.
Most of these photos are of Beckett because he’s just too darn cute to not photograph

Yup, those are teeth marks all over his crib

The weather in February was A M A Z I N G!!!! We had a handful of days that reached the 70’s!!

Lucy finished up her basketball season. After a rough start she is psyched to play again next year.

We made sure to take advantage of the weather and spent HOURS outside everyday.
One of my favorite Instagram mommies lost her sweet little boy in a tragic drowning accident this winter. He was only a few months older than Beckett. She asked us all to remember him by blowing bubbles and posting them on Insta. There were hundreds of moms on Instagram posting bubble pictures. Here are mine

Yes, Lucy is outside in a tank top with snow on the ground. It was one of those gorgeous 70 degree days we had.

Megan has been sharing her bowls of cereal with Beckett in the morning. Now when he see’s her pull a box out of the pantry he’ll go over and pull the chair out for her and wait. It’s one of the cutest things ever!! His sisters are ALL so good to him.

Megan and I spent a couple of days prom dress shopping. She tried on a TON of dresses and actually picked out the very last one she tried on. It’s gorgeous!

This store was amazing and it was SO much fun!! They had 1500 dresses in just Megan’s size.
A few more pictures of Beckett…
Ha! His legs are always hanging out of his crib!! (and I obviously photograph him in these pajamas a lot)

He kept walking around with the maple syrup and Lucy was calling him Buddy the Elf

Waiting at Fidelity. This place is NOT baby proof! Glass table and hard candy ALL over the place. Fun!

It’s too bad that this kid has no personality. HA!

He KNOWs he’s cute
Meggie Love

She was complaining that I don’t have as many pictures of her as I do Beckett.
And a few from Emma’s account that she sent over to me.

She beat all of us to NYC this past weekend. She had a blast!!
I have to throw a picture of Daisy in here too. This sweet old girl has SO much patience with Beckett. He jumps all over her, jumps on her bed until she moves, pulls at her hair and even smacked her in the head with a bowl this afternoon. Poor pup.
