I put this picture on Instagram but needed to have it here too. I’ve been brushing little girls’ hair for almost 21 years! Do you have any idea how many tears have been shed over that little fun fact? Both theirs and mine! HA! I find it to be so stressful on mornings where we’re already running late. Sometimes I ask myself “what the heck were they doing in their sleep to get this many knots?” Lucy is my last baby girl and I know that even something as small as this will be something I will miss.
Looks like I’m down to “blogging” about once a month at this point. And, do I even call it blogging anymore? I’m just trying to make sure that all of my photos have a home these days (besides Instagram). My camera is severely neglected as well. I just don’t have the time to keep up anymore. I started to run out of room on my phone and decided to upload a ton of pictures to Shutterfly before I had a chance to put them over here so I’m missing some pretty fun photos. Oh well, at least I have them somewhere.
Most of these photos are of Beckett because he’s just too darn cute to not photograph
Yup, those are teeth marks all over his crib
The weather in February was A M A Z I N G!!!! We had a handful of days that reached the 70’s!!
Lucy finished up her basketball season. After a rough start she is psyched to play again next year.
We made sure to take advantage of the weather and spent HOURS outside everyday.
One of my favorite Instagram mommies lost her sweet little boy in a tragic drowning accident this winter. He was only a few months older than Beckett. She asked us all to remember him by blowing bubbles and posting them on Insta. There were hundreds of moms on Instagram posting bubble pictures. Here are mine
Yes, Lucy is outside in a tank top with snow on the ground. It was one of those gorgeous 70 degree days we had.
Megan has been sharing her bowls of cereal with Beckett in the morning. Now when he see’s her pull a box out of the pantry he’ll go over and pull the chair out for her and wait. It’s one of the cutest things ever!! His sisters are ALL so good to him.
Megan and I spent a couple of days prom dress shopping. She tried on a TON of dresses and actually picked out the very last one she tried on. It’s gorgeous!
This store was amazing and it was SO much fun!! They had 1500 dresses in just Megan’s size.
A few more pictures of Beckett…
Ha! His legs are always hanging out of his crib!! (and I obviously photograph him in these pajamas a lot)
He kept walking around with the maple syrup and Lucy was calling him Buddy the Elf
Waiting at Fidelity. This place is NOT baby proof! Glass table and hard candy ALL over the place. Fun!
It’s too bad that this kid has no personality. HA!
He KNOWs he’s cute
She was complaining that I don’t have as many pictures of her as I do Beckett.
And a few from Emma’s account that she sent over to me.
She beat all of us to NYC this past weekend. She had a blast!!
I have to throw a picture of Daisy in here too. This sweet old girl has SO much patience with Beckett. He jumps all over her, jumps on her bed until she moves, pulls at her hair and even smacked her in the head with a bowl this afternoon. Poor pup.
This winter season has been flying by!! We’ve been so busy with school, work and extra curricular activities that I haven’t had a minute to get over to my little corner of the internet to update.
We are psyched that once again our NE Patriots are Super Bowl champions!! Go PATS! Last time they won Beckett was in my belly. I think he’s a little good luck charm.
We took the kids to the Harvard Museum of Natural History a couple of weeks ago. I haven’t been in 2 years and I was shocked to see how many kids Beckett’s age were there. It’s the new spot for babies to hang out, I guess.
Look at the way this sweet boy looks up at his mama. Melts. My. Heart!! OMG!
He melts ALL of our hearts.
Lucy got a pottery set for Christmas and spent today (snow day) making a bowl for Baba Paul. They always seem to have an art deal going. She is his favorite artist 🙂
I had to put that shot in of Beckett’s little curl. Gosh, he’s cute!
We just got back from spending 5 days at the happiest place on earth. Walt Disney World! This was a very last minute trip. I looked at Jon on December 29th and said “we should go to Disney, I just found a great deal”. He looked back at me and said “book it”. We NEVER do things like that so it made it a little more exciting 🙂
I was a little nervous about taking Beckett on the plane and how he would act in a stroller all day in the parks. He ended up being PERFECT on the plane and LOVED every minute being in the parks. I think I have another Disney baby in the house.
I LOVE that Lucy wanted to buy an autograph book and meet the characters. Sometimes I forget that she’s still only a little girl. I’m surrounded by all these older girls and she always seems to be in the mix. We stopped and let her meet whoever she wanted and made sure that all of her sweet 8 year old Disney wishes came true.
A few more photos:
I uploaded all my Christmas photos from my camera last night and they were terrible. Like, laugh out loud terrible. I can’t let any more time go by without posting Christmas so I’ll just use the pictures from my phone (which aren’t much better)
This is the first Christmas ever that we didn’t go to mass. I have felt guilty ever since but I knew Beckett would’ve been terrible. We ended up ordering out and watching Christmas movies. Lucy read T’was the Night Before Christmas to us
We had a great day with Brian, Marlene, Liz and Sydney
On to 2017! Happy New Year!!
Just a few shots of my B in his Christmas pajamas
These Burts Bees baby are my favorite ones this year. They are super soft but he won’t leave socks on his feet when he sleeps so I kinda just use them as lounge wear. Because what little boy doesn’t want lounge wear? 😂
You would think that with all of these cute little pj’s this baby would sleep but NOPE. I think he’s just excited for Santa to come!
Don’t you just love weekends that are all about Christmas? We’ve been busy over here at the Friary house getting ready for the big day. We’re trying to soak up all that this season has to offer. We started with a day trip into the city (minus Emma who was visiting some college friends).
Friday night Jon took Lucy to the lighting of our town tree. It was cold and I knew Beckett wouldn’t be up for it so I stayed home with Chloe and watched a Christmas movie. Saturday we took the kids (again, minus Emma) to breakfast with Santa
After lunch we went looking for our tree. In the years past we’ve had great luck at a local tree farm. This year the trees weren’t that great. If you’ve been following along for a few years you know by now that our trees are always misshapen. We never get that perfect tree. So I’m not sure why it was so important this year but we went to five tree places looking for a perfect tree. Yup, FIVE different tree farms with five kids in tow. During nap and dinner time. After three hours we found our tree.
It’s perfectly decorated. And by perfect I mean, it’s been decorated by five kids. It’s filled with paper decorations that the kids made during their elementary school years, angels from Shelly, vacation ornaments, ornaments that make us laugh (and cry) and lights that are a little uneven. PERFECT.
That is until Jon found it knocked over on the living room floor. AT 4AM. Ha! That’s never happened before.
So we picked up that perfect tree and redecorated it in the early morning hours right before Jon jumped on a plane to Dallas.
Then it began to snow.
I SHOULD be putting out my Christmas decorations right now. I always put them out the morning after Thanksgiving and the baby is sleeping right now but I don’t have the energy to go up to the crawl space and pull them out. So I thought I’d just post a few pictures from the last two days before they get lost in my camera roll.
We finally made it up to the castle this week. The view from the top is AMAZING and I’m thinking that maybe we could do our Christmas cards up there
Marlene tried to get a picture of the seven of us but unfortunately most of them came out like this
We enjoyed a great visit with Tracey and the girls
And since I’m not doing an official 13 month update on Beckett….. can you believe he will be 13 months tomorrow…… here are a few pictures of him from this month
He’s such a good boy!! He still isn’t sleeping at night though. He is a busy little guy during the day. He is constantly climbing on things and still loves emptying the cabinets. He understands everything we tell him and let me just say that this little bubba LOVES to eat
I already posted these pictures on Instagram and Facebook but wanted to make sure I brought them over here too.
Beckett made the cutest little Mickey Mouse. He happily sat in his wagon and let me pull him around all morning. Trick or treating was a different story. He was not having it at all! He screamed the entire time we were out. He even lost part of his costume while throwing a temper tantrum. I felt bad for the Gilmore family who came with us. I even left in the middle and brought Beckett home to have Chloe put him to bed. Poor baby was tired, cold and probably a little freaked out.
It was a little sad not having any of the older kids with us this year. This was the first year that Chloe didn’t go out. I think she was ready to hang up that Halloween hat of hers. She really isn’t a fan at all. While we were out with the Gilmores last night we were talking about how when Beckett is ready to stop trick or treating with us, we’ll have 30+ years of trick or treating under our belts. I’m sure by then I’ll be ready to hang up my hat too, but not yet. I still LOVE this stage!
