Red Sox Game

Jon and I took Chloe and Lucy to their first Red Sox game on Sunday. It was a HOT HOT HOT day!!

We were a little late to the game due to the unexpected Sunday traffic so we had Yawkey Way pretty much to ourselves

Oh how I miss living in a city!! It brought me back to last year in London and all the time Jon and I spent in Boston BK (before kids). I like my small town and the sense of community I get here but there is nothing like walking out your door to a fun and busy city! Someday…..

But to get back to Sunday:

Jon wants to know how many other kids go their first Red Sox game and orders a kale chicken caesar wrap instead of a Fenway Frank

Our kid…. and it was SO good!!

Luckily we were sitting in the shade because it was 90 degrees that day. Makes it VERY hard for a pregnant woman to sit for a few hours but we were having so much fun it didn’t seem too bad. These two didn’t complain once!

They got to see Big Papi ( the only Sox player they knew)

Our seats were fantastic!

Lucy said she’s excited and ready to go back to another game! I can’t wait either!

Chloe is a Teenager!!

18 days ago Chloe Jane became a teenager. And what a great teenager she is!! She’s caring and sweet. She always thinks about everyone else’s feelings and wouldn’t say a negative thing about anyone. She works hard at everything she does and doesn’t give up easily on anything. She is a great sister and daughter. She makes us proud every day!!

This one was from her actual birthday. We took the girls to the movies and out for Chinese food. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool.

The following weekend she celebrated by having her grandparents up for a small birthday cookout:

Then of course a small friend party the following week. We went out for manicures and pizza

Not the greatest picture but it was such a fun day for her!

Weekend Snapshots

Megan spent a few days at her grandparents last week. After we picked her up we took the kids to Newport. It was my first trip in 2 years!

The beach was so crowded! Driving away from the beach we noticed a mile backup just waiting to get in. We left just in time. After a fun morning on the beach we drove out to Flo’s on Island park. We tried to get in here on Mother’s Day but it was too crowded.

These clam cakes were worth the 2 month wait!

A Party For Lucy

We celebrated Lucy’s 7th birthday with her school friends yesterday. She wanted to have an ice cream themed birthday.

Everyone in the house pitched in to help make Lucy’s party fun!

Even though Emma had to work she made this really cute ice cream poster so that the kids could play pin the cherry on the ice cream cone

The girls always seem to hang out ON the roof instead of inside the house. ALL of my girls have done this.

She had such a fun day yesterday with all her bffs.

Lucy Turns 7!!

I can’t believe my little Lucy turned 7 this weekend! What a sweet little pumpkin she is. We had her family party on Saturday and she had such a great time!

Weekend Snapshots

Every time Jon brings up our time in London the subject always turns to food. Now that I’m pregnant that means an automatic craving. Like the times we spent on Portobello Road eating Falafels. That conversation sent us up to Whole Foods on Saturday afternoon to buy some.

We walked one down to Megan who was babysitting Esme and Milo. Lucy stayed a few minutes to play

Yesterday we took Chloe and Lucy hiking. First hike of the season and I’m happy to report that there were no bear sightings

I love these warm weather weekends!!

Easter, a Gender Reveal and a Birthday

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. This year was extra busy and extra exciting!! We started off at home doing an egg hunt with the girls. Not too many 18 year olds get to hunt for eggs, but this was a special hunt. Somewhere in our house was a golden egg. Inside that egg was either blue or pink M&M’s letting the girls know whether they would be getting a baby brother or a baby sister.

It’s a boy!! I think we were all a little more than shocked to find that out. I honestly didn’t care what we were having. I just wanted to make sure that this little baby was healthy. After you turn 35 the doctors, websites, magazines, message boards Etc.. scare the heck out of you. I would have been completely happy with another girl, these girls are my world. But, when the doctor called to tell me my results I couldn’t stop crying and shaking. I am BEYOND thrilled to have a boy. I can’t wait!!!

After that excitement the girls finished going through their baskets. Bath bombs from Lush were a huge hit this year.

Then it was off to my parents to celebrate Easter and my mom’s birthday (which happens later this week). I also got to spend time with my brothers and their families and let them know that we were having a boy! More shock!

After all the excitement of the day we had to drop Emma back off at school.

We already miss her!!

The holidays are officially over and now it’s time to move on to Friary Family Birthday Season, which will now run until October!

Our weekend

You know you’re gonna have a nice weekend when it starts out with a sweet 14 year old making the family dinner on Friday night. We’ve even really good with not eating meat during this lent season. Megan made a delicious garlic shrimp meal she found on my Pinterest

Saturday we got to spend the day with Aislinn and her family. This little cutie was the center of attention all day. I think the girls are going to love having a baby in the house again!!

How many times have I mentioned how thankful Emma goes to college near the rest of our family? I love being able to see her on the weekends!!

Yesterday was a quiet day. We took the kids shopping because that’s normally what we do on Sundays. Lucy found a K-mart flier in the newspaper and thought it looked like the best store E V E R, so we went looking for a K-mart to take her to. Our kids make the funniest requests sometimes!
