Bump Update 16 Weeks!

I’ve been obsessed with other’s people’s blog for the past few years. I never really paid any attention to pregnant mama’s out there until recently. I’ve found some super cute pregnancy blogs over the last few months and they all do their weekly bump updates. I thought it’d be a great way to capture this pregnancy. So here goes…….

How far along? 16 weeks 5 days

Baby is the size of: an avocado (according to the Bump)

Total weight gain: 6 pounds (uh oh!)

The Bump: It looks huge!! Seriously, I look like I’m 6 months pregnant!

Cravings: falafels!!! Can’t get enough!! Jon drove all the way up to Whole Foods this weekend to get me some!! Also, ice cream!!!

Sleep: what’s that? I have major pregnancy insomnia going on right now!!

What I miss? Nothing yet. I love this stage of pregnancy!!

Gender: It’s a boy!!!

Names: I wish!! I had a whole list of girl names but nothing for this sweet little boy.

Movement: I’ve felt a few little flutters the past few days but I have to be REALLY still to catch them!

Maternity clothes: Just tops, my jeans are still fitting.

Labor signs? NO WAY!!

Best Moment of the week? The girls have been on vacation this week so it’s been nice taking things slow in the morning.

Worst moment? Not sleeping.

What I’m most excited about? Feeling more movement this week!! I know he’s in there growing like crazy.

Purchases: YES! This week I bought him a pair of sherpa boots from Gymboree and a snowsuit from Baby Gap. I also used my BRU gift card Aislinn gave me and bought a Boba wrap!!

Babies room: Not yet! Found a crib I want so that’s a start!!

Weekend Snapshots

Every time Jon brings up our time in London the subject always turns to food. Now that I’m pregnant that means an automatic craving. Like the times we spent on Portobello Road eating Falafels. That conversation sent us up to Whole Foods on Saturday afternoon to buy some.

I kinda am too!

Yesterday was crazy hair and hat day. Lucy wasn’t crazy about messy or wild hair so we went with the hat. I think it lasted about 10 minutes and then she put her head band on her head.

Spring is finally here which means cute spring dresses!! Loved Chloe’s outfit this morning!!

Easter, a Gender Reveal and a Birthday

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. This year was extra busy and extra exciting!! We started off at home doing an egg hunt with the girls. Not too many 18 year olds get to hunt for eggs, but this was a special hunt. Somewhere in our house was a golden egg. Inside that egg was either blue or pink M&M’s letting the girls know whether they would be getting a baby brother or a baby sister.

It’s a boy!! I think we were all a little more than shocked to find that out. I honestly didn’t care what we were having. I just wanted to make sure that this little baby was healthy. After you turn 35 the doctors, websites, magazines, message boards Etc.. scare the heck out of you. I would have been completely happy with another girl, these girls are my world. But, when the doctor called to tell me my results I couldn’t stop crying and shaking. I am BEYOND thrilled to have a boy. I can’t wait!!!

After that excitement the girls finished going through their baskets. Bath bombs from Lush were a huge hit this year.

Mimi and Baba had another hunt at their house

Then it was off to my parents to celebrate Easter and my mom’s birthday (which happens later this week). I also got to spend time with my brothers and their families and let them know that we were having a boy! More shock!

After all the excitement of the day we had to drop Emma back off at school.

We already miss her!! IMG_0781

The holidays are officially over and now it’s time to move on to Friary Family Birthday Season, which will now run until October!

Our weekend

You know you’re gonna have a nice weekend when it starts out with a sweet 14 year old making the family dinner on Friday night. We’ve even really good with not eating meat during this lent season. Megan made a delicious garlic shrimp meal she found on my Pinterest

Saturday we got to spend the day with Aislinn and her family. This little cutie was the center of attention all day. I think the girls are going to love having a baby in the house again!!

Aislinn and Mark picked Emma up for us before heading up

20150330-114046.jpg

How many times have I mentioned how thankful Emma goes to college near the rest of our family? I love being able to see her on the weekends!!

Yesterday was a quiet day. We took the kids shopping because that’s normally what we do on Sundays. Lucy found a K-mart flier in the newspaper and thought it looked like the best store E V E R, so we went looking for a K-mart to take her to. Our kids make the funniest requests sometimes!
Of course they also had to take a couple of Sunday selfies with me

I also should mention that Aislinn and Mark brought up some yummy deserts on Saturday that we just can’t let go to waste:

I’m a little embarrassed to say that the chocolate cream pie they brought didn’t last long enough for pictures!

I can’t wait until it’s warm enough to be outside and actually WANT to take pictures! I refused to take my camera outside this winter. Who the heck wants to capture over 100 inches of snow??
Some of these pictures are on Instagram but I wanted to have them here as well.

I love how it brightens up the room!! Makes it almost feel like the warmer weather is actually coming

20150326-092256.jpg

I still love watching Lucy play with her toys.

We took the kids to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston a couple of weeks ago. Lucy had a blast for the first half an hour. She told me all the Monet facts she’s learned in art class. Then she was D O N E!!

We spent a great week having Emma home for spring break. I loved having my dinner table full again. We already miss her!!

We took the girls shopping this weekend and Lucy wanted to buy this giraffe for Emma

So far this spring has been a lot better than our winter. Can’t wait to post more about it!!

February Little Things

What a boring and snowy winter we’re having this year. I haven’t taken my camera out once! Who wants to look at pictures of over 100 inches of snow? Not me!!
Most of our weekends have been spent at home watching movies in front of the fire or playing one of Lucy’s many board games. Not really picture worthy moments.

20150225-113716.jpg

Every year we receive the most thoughtful give from our friend Shelly. It seems to come in the mail on days I need it most. Shelly is known around here as the Angel Lady.

20150225-113838.jpg

I love the fact that Emma goes to school so close to the rest of our family. It’s so nice being able to have a quick visit with her whenever we go down there. I love that picture of her and Lucy having soup together.

20150225-114023.jpg

Mimi and Baba got this awesome new kitty that we just love!!

20150225-114105.jpg

Boredom has set in and we’re playing nonstop board games.

Megan is all done with cheerleading for the year. She has two weeks off and then she starts lacrosse. Chloe starts her yoga class today after school. We just found out yesterday that Lucy got a lead role in the first grade play. She was so excited!! We couldn’t be more proud of her. Emma should be home in a few weeks for spring break. I can’t wait!!!! I miss her so much!! I love having everyone under one roof!! Lots of things going on this spring and I’m looking forward to all of it!! Especially the open windows!
