First Day of Spring

I wish it was 80 degrees. It’s not. I wish I was on a beach. I’m not. I wish I was skinnier. I’m not. Ha! Ha!

As much as I’ve complained about winter this year, I have to admit that it really doesn’t get any more beautiful then this:Image

I also have to admit that I love when we have snow days. I love that I get trapped in the house with Jon and the girls. It’s great having no where to be on those days. Except last night when I had to drive in the storm to take Megan to Lacrosse practice. And every Monday when I had to drive in the snow to take Chloe to guitar lessons. I love when people honk their horns at me and flip me the bird for driving too slow. Ok, I’m ready for spring!

More snow. Because all it does is snow around here.

This is where we are sometimes forced to stop and eat when we’re on a road trip.

Uncle Jon taught Colton how to build a fire. ImageImage

I’ve been loving my new Kitchen Aid and even tried baking bread this weekend.ImageImage

If I bake, I walk

Sunday dinner.

This Morning

I thought it would be a nice idea to let Lucy sleep in this morning so I had Megan and Chloe walk to the bus stop by themselves. I got a “Come on Mom, we’re just walking to the bus stop” when I took my camera outside this morning. Image

I watched them walk all the way down and waited until the bus showed up before I went inside. I’m nutty like that.Image

In other exciting news, I got my Kitchen Aid mixer yesterday!! I can’t wait to make some bread and pasta with my new toy!! Image

Family Dinners

Sitting down to dinner with my whole family is one of my favorite things! Jon has been coming home early every night this year and it’s been great! The other night while eating dinner I ran to get my camera. Everyone smiled because they know that I don’t have a problem taking a picture of them with their mouths full. Megan laughed and said “you’re a weird mom.” I explained to her how she will love to look back and see us all sitting around the table together. I would LOVE to see a picture of my brothers and I sitting around the dinner table. So here’s a picture of “Taco Monday”Image

In other news, I’m excited to know that the man who handed me my high school diploma could be our next Pope. Praying for Cardinal O’Malley.

I needed a little spring this week so I picked up some flowers at Trader Joe’s:Image

Lucy worked on drawing some shapes:Image

Jon took Lucy out to lunch while I was at jury duty. He sent me a few pictures because he knows pictures of the kids makes me happy 🙂 ImageImage

The jacket obviously needs a washing.

Megan started lacrosse this week:ImageImageImageImage

Chalkboard

I love my chalkboard in my kitchen! I try to put something up there once a week for my girls to read. Anything to encourage them into trying something hard or something about enjoying their young lives to the fullest.  This morning I found this on Pinterest and just LOVED it! Image

I sat in jury duty for the last couple of days watching this broken family. It really was sad. I can’t help but think, if someone would have been a positive influence on this young mother maybe her life would have turned out differently.

Our Weekend

These weekends go by much too quickly. Friday night Heather and I took the kids to the mall to get their Lacrosse gear. Then we had a quick bite to eat at Panera Bread. Jon stayed home to paint the girls’ new beds. They came out really cute!! We spent the entire day on Saturday cleaning and emptying out their room and then putting everything back together. Image

Sunday was Marlene’s birthday and their first day home from St. Marten so we had everyone up for dinner. Such a fun day!! Image

I think someone missed their BabaImage

Another Snow Day

There hasn’t been one snowflake to fall from the sky since I woke up at 5:30 this morning but they have another day off. It’s been raining ALL day!! It’s been a perfect day for some tea:ImageImageImage

A perfect day to watch some Netflix movies on your iPad:

And a perfect day to watch some makeup tutorials on youtube:

It’s also a perfect day for me to sit here with a friend and commiserate about sending our babies to kindergarten in the fall. We had kindergarten parents night last night and it was great to see some familiar faces.  As I looked around the room I realized that I’m not the only one stressing out about sending our “babies” to school and that made me feel better. You know what they say, “misery loves company”. Hahaha!
