February Little Things

What a boring and snowy winter we’re having this year. I haven’t taken my camera out once! Who wants to look at pictures of over 100 inches of snow? Not me!!
Most of our weekends have been spent at home watching movies in front of the fire or playing one of Lucy’s many board games. Not really picture worthy moments.

Every year we receive the most thoughtful give from our friend Shelly. It seems to come in the mail on days I need it most. Shelly is known around here as the Angel Lady.

I love the fact that Emma goes to school so close to the rest of our family. It’s so nice being able to have a quick visit with her whenever we go down there. I love that picture of her and Lucy having soup together.

Mimi and Baba got this awesome new kitty that we just love!!

Boredom has set in and we’re playing nonstop board games.

Megan is all done with cheerleading for the year. She has two weeks off and then she starts lacrosse. Chloe starts her yoga class today after school. We just found out yesterday that Lucy got a lead role in the first grade play. She was so excited!! We couldn’t be more proud of her. Emma should be home in a few weeks for spring break. I can’t wait!!!! I miss her so much!! I love having everyone under one roof!! Lots of things going on this spring and I’m looking forward to all of it!! Especially the open windows!

Sunday Snapshots

My New Years resolution was to take more pictures this year. Today is the 11th and I haven’t taken my camera out once!
This morning we took the girls to TJ Maxx and Lucy fell in love with this gigantic unicorn

You could tell the woman working behind the counter got a kick out of her. She looked pretty cute walking up to the counter with a unicorn bigger than her and her Christmas money (thank you, Auntie Di)

We also played in the snow for a little while with Chloe and Lucy

Fun, but too cold!!!

Jon is leaving for London this week and Emma has to go back to College in a week so we’ve been trying to enjoy as much family time as possible. No time to take my pictures. I did snap this one at dinner tonight, though. I love that we had a dinner guest. It’s not everyday that we’re able to dine with a majestic unicorn

Thank God for iPhones!

Christmas!!

We had such a nice Christmas this year! Jon and I spent Christmas Eve day cooking, preparing for our Christmas dinner with our family. We took the girls to 4:00 Mass and then picked up some Chinese food on the way home. It was the first time we’ve ordered out  but I’m thinking it’s the start of a new tradition. IMG_0609

We all got some new Christmas pajamas, settled into the living room for some pictures and then watched Christmas Vacation.IMG_0632IMG_0635

Thanksgiving

IMG_0510

I haven’t posted anything here since Halloween!! What?? We’ve been so busy this month that I rarely took my camera out. We did our usual November activities, including our thankful tree. This year the leaves on the branches weren’t as thick. Not that we didn’t have as much to be thankful for but because Emma’s been away just about all month (with a few quick visits here and there) and Jon’s been in London for most of the month. I HAD to jump in here to post our family photo from yesterday. It was great spending the holiday with my parents, brothers and all these kids!

Looking forward to taking down the Thanksgiving decorations tomorrow and putting up the Christmas ones.

Busy, Busy!

We’ve been back in the states for over a week and things have been busy! I’m trying to get everyone ready for school. All 4 girls will be in 4 different places come next week. Jon is still over in London so I’m doing everything on my own. I was lucky enough to have my mom come up for a couple days last week. We spent a lot of time back to school shopping.

I found the camera that I’ve been wanting on clearance so I had to grab it! I think I’m in love with it!! We tried doing a little photo shoot the other day but it was cut short because while we were out there snapping away a fisher cat walked behind me. Gross and scary!! I got a couple of shots of the girls before that happened.

That last one is a little blurry but thought it was too cute not to share.

London Day 2

Our tour of London continued yesterday. I’m impressed with how much our very handsome tour guide knows about the city.
We started the day by getting our Oyster cards. Then we hopped on one of the big red double decker buses. Our first stop was Oxford Street to check out the shopping. We went into a couple of stores but it was so crowded and we (Megan and Emma excluded) didn’t feel like shopping all day.

By the time we walked through the shopping district we were all starving!! Jon took us to a little sandwich shop that he stops at on his lunch hour. Then we headed through to Piccadilly Circus. That place is awesome! There is so much to see and do there. I can’t wait to go back and explore again! We walked through Trafalgar Square and quickly went through the National Museum. All of my pictures of that are on my camera. After the museum we headed out to see the London Eye

The views from the bridge were spectacular! We sat under the Eye, had some ice cream and watched the street performers.

As you can see there was a lot of walking done yesterday!!
We then went over to Westminster Abbey.

We finished the day by taking the tube back to Paddington. It was another long, fun and busy day. It ended by one of our poor children getting hit with the stomach bug. We’ve been up every hour on the hour dealing with that. She seems to be doing a little better right now. My fingers are crossed that tomorrow’s post isn’t all about the family being sick on day 3.
Our plan for today is to rest up, watch some funny British TV and maybe take a quick walk to Kensington Gardens to get some fresh air.

Cheerio!

Graduation

Well that went by in a flash! Seems like we just dropped her off at preschool. You know, the day I cried all the way home with a sleeping newborn in the backseat (that baby is on her way to high school in the fall). I still remember what she wore on her first day of school when she was 4 years old. She had on a pair of navy blue capri pants, a red shirt and a pair of red and blue Oxfords. Her hair was up in a pony tail and the look of terror on her face was one I’ll never forget.

My camera didn’t work during the ceremony. I complained enough about that stupid camera to Jon so I’ll spare the details here. I did get a couple of grainy photos outside.

I didn’t cry during the ceremony. Lets face it, ceremonies like that are long, kinda boring and extremely hot. I did however tear up at the end when one of the graduates got everyone going like it was a pep rally and  I lost it when the caps went flying in the air. Congratulations Emma! I’m so excited to see what this next phase in life is like for the two of us.

Soccer Saturday

We have sports going on 7 days a week over here. This is the first time Chloe has played soccer since kindergarten. Her first game was this past Saturday. We all went and had so much fun watching her play. I was impressed at how good she was. Image

Check out that jersey!

She got right in there! She wasn’t timid at all!

Great job, Chloe!

Two Days With Lu

Last year at this time I was taking Lu in for her kindergarten screening. Oh man, was I upset! I remember how calmly she took the teacher’s hand and left me in the lobby on the brink of tears. She’s had the last 2 days off due to screening and even though I feel for those new mamas sending their babies off to kindergarten I got to enjoy some one on one Lucy time. We started yesterday off by going to the party store. We were in search of masks for Chloe and Megan’s semi formal this weekend. We had a ton of fun!!

After that we headed over to Target because let’s face it, Target with a little one makes me feel like a modern mama 🙂 Joking! (Not really)
Lucy picked McDonalds for lunch.
