Happy Fall!

I’m a day late, but what else is new? We’ve been busy over here crossing things off of our fall bucket list. Last week Tracey came up to spend the day with Beck and me. We hit Hobby Lobby, Chik-fil-A, loaded up on fairytale pumpkins from Trader Joe’s and then ended our day at the farm (where i locked my keys in my car). I LOVE when she comes up to spend the day with us!!

This weekend we took Lucy and Beckett apple picking. We usually fill up one bag and then head back the following weekend. It’s one of our favorite things to do in the fall so we go multiple times a season.

So many fun things coming up over the next few weekends including Beckett’s 4th Birthday!! We are busy planning a super fun Toy Story party!! Can’t wait to celebrate our boy! Or boys!! It’s Jon’s Birthday this week!!

Happy Fall!

This Moment

I’ve been sitting here going through old blog posts from when my girls were all young. I’ve also been looking through old blog posts from one of my favorite bloggers (who inspired me to start my own) and it’s crazy how fast time has flown by. How much these kids have grown (mine and her’s). I’m missing my babies like crazy!! So much that my breathe keeps catching and my eyes start filling up. I miss posting about their first days of school and simple grocery store runs. Play dates, sleepovers and first field hockey games. It all went by so quickly. Then I hear “mom, take a picture” and turn to see this

I’ve been soaking in all of these baby moments with him because I know how quickly time is flying. Two more years until he’s off to kindergarten 😭

Summer

Oh, summer, you are within arms reach and we just can’t wait for ya!! Lucy and her chorus sang the National Anthem at a local minor league baseball game over the weekend and it was our first official taste of summer.

We have so much planned for the summer but first we have to make it through the last few days of school. Can’t wait!!

Christmas

The entire month of December felt like Christmas so I have a TON of photos coming!! It was the most exhausting month of my life and it honestly took me 3 days after Christmas to recover. Ha! It seems like every year goes faster than the year before. I started prepping for Christmas back in September and I barely got everything done in time.

Beckett is at such a fun age. Everything to him seemed so magical but he never once felt threatened by the fact that Santa and the Elf were watching him. Hahaha!

We were late getting our tree this year. We tried a new tree farm a few towns over and although the tree was perfect we won’t go back again next year. We all kind of missed our usual tree farm.

Megan wasn’t around to get the tree with us this year.

Look at how beautiful it is!! It was perfect until it fell over 3 days later breaking 15 of my favorite ornaments. Ugh!

The month of December also brought a collaboration with a company called Mapiful. We LOVE our new London map. Thank you Mapiful!

Jon and I snuck in a Patriots date in the middle of all the Christmas preparations.

We had a nice visit and cookies with Santa at a new Inn a few towns over.

I had this cute little shopping buddy with me. We went out every single day in December. There he is shopping in his pajamas two mornings before Christmas.

Lots of puppy love

Beckett looked forward to his advent chocolate every morning. Here he is trying to sneak it first thing. Ha!

The only thing I ever bake at Christmas is cookies for Santa. Here is my cute little cookie helper.

Gingerbread house makers

After school ice cream snack

We tracked Santa all day!

The kids do a Christmas Eve present exchange every year. It’s so fun watching what they pick out for one another. It’s one of my favorite parts of Christmas. We ordered Chinese food, opened new Christmas pjs and then watched a few movies before bed

My dining room looked so peaceful before I went to bed on Christmas Eve so I had to take a picture

Santa came

There was excitement, noise, magic and a huge mess!!

It was GREAT!!

We had a house full on Christmas Day

It really is the best time of the year!!

We finished the month with a birthday party for my dad

And a holiday party at Marlene’s (that I don’t have any pictures of)

2018 was a great year for our family filled with so many fun memories. We’re all excited to see what 2019 brings. Thanks so much for following along on our family’s journey. Happy New Year!!

Beckett James, 3 Years Old

Three! 3!!! It’s crazy to think it was 3 short years ago that this little boy came into our lives. In some ways it seems like yesterday and in other ways it seems like he’s always been here.

Beckett, you have grown so much this past year. You are talking up a storm. You say EVERYTHING and use such big words!! You also like to use cuss words and we’re all trying to work on that. Ha! You still have everyone in this house wrapped around that cute little finger of yours!! You can throw a temper tantrum like nobody’s business bringing an entire store to a standstill. But, you can also charm the pants off a complete stranger in the checkout line when you introduce yourself as Romeo. Yes, Romeo. You’ve been telling people that your name is Romeo for the last 6 months.

Eating: You are officially the pickiest eater we’re ever had to deal with. For breakfast your favorite things are chocolate milk, avocado toast with Everything but the Bagel seasoning from Trader Joe’s, pancakes, monkey drinks, yogurt or donuts. You LOVE donuts!!! Lunch is Annies Mac and cheese, french fries, crackers and cheese, pretzel and hummus, soup and recently you’ve taken a liken to chicken nuggets. Dinner consists of you throwing your food all over the place and not really eating at all. Unless we’re having fish. You LOVE fish (almost as much as you love donuts). You’re a fantastic snacker so I try and make your snack as healthy as possible but you still seem to find a cookie or two. Your diet is all over the place these days but you LOVE your vitamins!! Thank God!

img_4359img_4270img_4265img_4263img_4323img_3900

Sleep: You finally sleep through the night (90% of the time). You insist on reading at least 5 books at night and then you NEED to be rocked to sleep. Every time I try and put you in your crib you tell me “one more minute” so I sit there and rock you for “one more minute”, which is actually 20. Ha! This happens everyday at nap and bedtime. You are quite the little snuggler so I don’t mind.

img_4152

You are still obsessed with all of your sisters but these days Lucy is your bff. You follow her all over the house and yard and miss her so much when she’s at school. You’re also really missing your Memmy (Megan) while she’s away at college.

img_3980img_3766img_4310img_4282img_4329

You LOVE to play outside. You love going to the park with daddy and driving your truck around the yard. You like to sing but don’t want anyone singing along with you. You say its annoying. Ha!  You are quite the little dancer these days and LOVE Bruno Mars. You still love Mickey Mouse but really enjoy movies. Your favorites this year are Despicable Me 3, Boss Baby, Trolls, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Hotel Transylvania. You love playing with cars, batman toys and most recently PJMasks toys. You give the best hugs and kisses and tell all the girls in  your life how pretty we are ( we LOVE that ). It’s so fun having sweet conversations with you. You’re turning into such a sweet big boy but you’re still little enough to crawl on our lap and asked to be rocked. I’ll rock you until you are 10 if you want!! Happiest of birthdays, Beckett James!! We love you soooooo much!!

Soccer!!

I’m pretty behind on this space but I HAVE to add some pictures of Beckett playing soccer. He is loving it so far!!

It’s a 45 minute class every Friday night and this kid already knows how to Bend it Like Beckett.

California Part 1

Our vacation got off to a pretty rough start. After struggling to get Beck’s car seat installed on the airplane we were told that we had to get off the plane due to bad weather. There was going to be a 4 hour delay. We had a connecting flight that we were never going to make. So we had to rebook our flights for first thing the next morning. We had 8 hours to wait and it didn’t make any sense for us to go home so we waited it out………. at the airport

We had a quick layover in TX

But, La Jolla you were worth the wait!!

It was a long day of traveling and beach going and we were all exhausted but there was no way I was going to miss my first west coast sunset. Megan, Chloe, Lucy and I all walked down to the beach to watch

We spent the 4th of July at the beach. We went to Torey Pines first and then over to Coronado and met up with Scott

Then we went to the seaport to watch the fireworks around the bay. It was an incredible sight to see

The following day we went to Seaworld. Jon hated Seaworld but I’m pretty sure it’s because he had flashbacks of Shamu pinching his ear when he was a little boy. The rest of us loved it!

We stopped at The Taco Stand on the way home. This place was DELICIOUS!! There was a constant line down the street no matter what time of day or night we drove by

SO good!!!

Sweet Emilie came for dinner one night

SO good to see her!

A few more pictures from the beginning of the week

If you’ve made it this far you’re a trooper. I think that was only day 3!! More to come!

Weekly Recap

I feel like we are in the thick of summer fun right now, even though we have another week of school left.

Lucy had her Last Blast on Thursday

I really like her group of friends. They all have pretty big personalities but they seem to compliment one another. Every once in a while you hear some arguing but mostly giggling. They point out when someone is doing or saying something wrong but not in a mean natured way. Almost adult like. They are also really good at complimenting each other and cheering each other on. It’s really FUN watching them all together.

Emma and Tess went to Iceland last week and it seemed strange to have my iPhone app look like this

She was REALLY far away!

Jon chaperoned Lucy’s canoe trip

This girl is way too cool to grocery shop

Saturday morning coffee and peaches with this boy

On Saturday we drove to Taunton where Megan received the Italian Club scholarship

When we left there we stopped to see Scott and Sean who were both in town for a christening.

After a long day Jon and I hung out with the kids and relaxed

Beckett has some water drops in his hair but I LOVE this big curl

Yesterday we took Lucy and Beck strawberry picking

And a few more random photos

Lucy got a chance to snuggle up sweet Sydney

And a few from Iceland even though Emma will end up putting these on her page

And even though it’s not a flattering picture of me I love it. I’ve had a baby on my hip for 22 years!!! It’s kinda my favorite thing

May Little Things

Just a few pictures from May so I don’t forget

My dad had some heart procedures done recently and I spent a few days with my mom

img_1123

Megan’s chorus had their senior night and I pretty much cried throughout the entire thing. When her friend Kamryn sang I Will Always Love You I pretty much lost it. Her voice is amazing!! Her friend Lexi sang Thank God for Small Towns and I cried through that one too. It’s safe to say that I’ll be a blubbering mess at graduation and will probably embarrass her and my entire family. Ha!

img_1129img_1128img_1151

Can’t forget Lucy’s Memorial Day program. I usually cry through that one too. This year Beckett kept me too busy to get teared up. He finally met Patrick (one of the babies that Megan and Chloe babysit for). It did hit me that I won’t be at the elementary school for this program for 4 years!! So sad!!

A few more photos from the month:

More Herobility img_1139img_1149img_1155

That pretty much wraps up May. Megan is out of school and busy having fun with her friends. Emma is done too and getting ready to hit Iceland next week with Tess. Chloe and Lucy have a couple of more weeks but I know that they’re eager to finish up. We have a fun summer planned and we are all more than ready to get to it!

One more thing, scroll back up and look at that last picture of Beckett’s face. How cute is he?!?!?!?!
