Chloe turned 12 today! One of her favorite things to do is go to the theatre. She’s been to 3 different plays in the last year so I knew that taking her on her birthday would be something she would always remember. The six of us hopped on a bus this morning to get our tickets. I loved this view from the top of the bus:
We stopped at Whole Foods (because it’s one of my favorite stores in the world)
We had a picnic in Green park
Took a little detour by the Queens house
This picture makes me laugh, Lucy was using Jon’s head as a table for her coke:
Then we made our way over to the Apollo Victoria Theatre
Of course no birthday would be complete without a birthday cake or two:
Happy Birthday Chloe! We love you so much and are so proud of the sweet young girl you are. Hope your day was wicked awesome!
I recently read that you remember more if you take less pictures and just live in the moment. Which is obviously not great for my blog but fantastic for my memory 🙂 I lived in the moment all weekend trying to soak up the near end of our experience here. I took a few pictures here and there because I felt as though I had to. Like this one of Emma buying a bag at Portobello Market. This woman was so sweet and so grateful to Emma.
Portobello Road was so crowded but so worth fighting the crowds to get to the amazing food vendors. There are dozens of them set up throughout the street and it’s a great place to grab lunch (and ice cream with fresh strawberries)
After Portobello we went to the London Aquarium.
Yesterday we walked over to see Harrods. Then over to Soho. We had dinner in China town and stopped at the M&M store. We walked down Regent Street and found the best Anthropologie store in the world! Seriously!! This is my favorite store anyways and I could have spent hours in there! Check out this wall
We ended up walking all the way home instead of taking a bus. We were all exhausted by the time we made it back. It was another great weekend. And thanks to my laziness of not wanting to take pictures it’ll probably always be saved in my memory 🙂
I did a little photo shoot with the girls in the park yesterday
I can’t wait to put all my pictures up on the computer. So happy that my camera is cooperating!!
After our little photo shoot in the long grass and about 20 bug bites later we walked over to the Science museum.
Don’t they look excited? Hahaha!
I didn’t take too many pictures on my phone yesterday. Just trying to enjoy these last few weeks here.
Is that right? Day 23? How do we only have 2 weeks left? This summer is going by too quickly! Yesterday the girls and I hopped on a bus and went shopping on Oxford Street. We spent over an hour in Primark and got a few things for school. I have no idea how we’re going to get all these new clothes home. Here’s Lucy showing her new loot to Megan
After all of our shopping we went to Pret for lunch. Does anyone know if Pret is in the US? Jon got me hooked on this drink and I’m hoping I can find it at home
I’ve enjoyed so much in this city but Kensington Gardens is hands down my favorite place to be. We did our nightly stroll with all the girls and stopped at the carousel.
These nightly strolls will be missed.
We just got back from Kensington Palace where we had a nice little party with the queen and future king. Well, we stood outside the gate and ordered ice cream from the palace cafe. We did see the Queen and Prince Phillip leaving after the tea. That was exciting enough for us 🙂
Happy Birthday little prince!
Jon was able to take Friday off so we headed over to Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. It was a lot more fun then anyone expected
Saturday we went to Portobello Road market. It was awesome but so crowded!! I took a ton of pictures on my camera but none on my phone. Well except this one of these two cuties in a little cafe:
After dinner on Saturday we went across the street to hang out and people watch. Lucy lost her first tooth in Kensington Gardens!
After we got the kids settled in Jon and I took a bus to a pub he wanted to show me. It was a traditional English pub. It was nice getting out to relax a little bit.
Yesterday we finally went on the London Eye. The girls enjoyed teasing Jon a little before we got on (he doesn’t like heights). I was actually pretty nervous once we got to the top. It was fun, the views were spectacular but I’m happy to say I will never have to do it again 🙂
I took a lot more photos with my camera
After the Eye we walked over to see Parliament, West Minster Abbey, the Tate and over to Buckingham Palace.
To say we were tired would be an understatement. It was such a fun fun weekend!
These two are up for anything.
I took the kids to the British Museum yesterday
A couple of the girls are totally over the museums. Not these two:
We got a little lost after leaving the museum but eventually found our way to Oxford Street. We did a little shopping and then met up with Jon. We went to the M&M store
Then China town for dinner.
We took a long walk home stopping at Buckingham Palace and the Serpentine on the way. I’m not sure where Lucy got all her energy from yesterday but we walked a good eight miles and she didn’t complain once!
Yesterday was a recharge day. The only outing the girls and I did during the day is to the grocery store.
Once Jon came home from work we went out searching for the London TJ Maxx. Here in London it’s actually called TK Maxx. On the way home we decided to take the road that is in front of Kensington Palace. There were signs all over the place that said No Photographs hmmmm… I knew it would be some place worth walking. The neighborhood was breathtaking! Once we got up to the palace I noticed a gentleman behind the fence with a black dog. He was pretty far away so I couldn’t make out who it was but I said “I think that’s William”. Megan snorted and said “yeah mom, if William is balding with a black dog”. I’m convinced but no one else is. By the time we walked to the other side of the palace we noticed a fancy party going on behind closed gates. *sigh* I want to go to a royal party.
I took the girls back to Notting Hill yesterday. This time we brought Emma back with us 🙂 She loved it too!
Emma got tired very quickly so we headed back home.
After dinner Jon and I took our nightly walk with Chloe and Lucy. We stopped at the playground (of course) and then walked down to the Serpentine for a chocolate waffle.
